.....If need be, create an email address specific to tutoring.....
Tutoring expectations
-Currently we are low on tutors. And with that comes a lot of frustration for students in need of help when the tutors are busy. Keeping that in mind, expect that we as tutors may be on the recieving end of the attitude this frustration creates. Do as best as you can to work with the students. However, if you are catching too much flack and you find yourself getting frusterated, feel free to ask for help to diffuse the situation.
-software installation/virus removal is something we are no longer allowed to perform. Due to the potential of someone's personal computer getting damaged/or loss of important data, it is best if we ask Robbie before doing anything with someone's personal computer.
-office hours are not a thing of the past. If you have a student that would like to schedule one on one tutoring have them speak with Robbie or Daniel
New tutors
-peer tutors as some of you have noticed there are some new faces running around. there have been a few new tutors that have just started and a couple returning tutors as well.
-nursing students-(have been requested to have a certain amount of hours in the success center?)
-UCC scholars have also been volunteering their time in the tutor lab as well.
Wooley center
-Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-6 at the wooley center we are offering tutoring services to those working towards their GED. The materials covered are basic math, writing, etc. If you are interested in tutoring there speak with Daniel.
Training/ED 125 replacement
Those that need it should be recieving an email involving when people are available to schedule the class. The class has been modified to be done all in one 5hr session instead of spread out throughout the term.
Private tutoring
For those that do private tutoring, if you need a place to tutor, we encourage tutors to utilize the success center for that.
-Final note for the day-
Please make sure you log out and turn off tablets/laptops when you turn them in.
